FAQ’s Face to Face PT

Where are you based?

I do Face to face PT sessions at The Perch gym in Lancing but I can also work from Alive gym in Brighton if required.

What do I need to bring to my free session?

Comfy sportswear, well fitting trainers and a water bottle. That’s it!

I feel like I’m too old/overweight/unfit. Should I still attend?

Most definitely! It’s never too late to do your body some good. People of all ages, abilities and weights have Personal Training sessions and the session will be designed specifically to your current fitness level.

What type of activity will I be doing in the session?

Each session will start with a warm up, mobilisation of the major joints and muscles to be used and some brief stretching. Each session ends with a cool down period and some stretching.

We would do a combination or resistance training using dumbbells, barbells, resistance bands, sandbags, battle ropes and many more. Your schedule will be tailored to your tastes and goals and you won’t have to do any exercises that you detest. The idea is to make it enjoyable and fun.

How long is the free session?

1 hour.

Would my programme include nutritional guidance?

Yes, if you have selected a programme that includes this. This would include a written 3 day diet analysis, 7 day diet guide, healthy food shopping list and a page of good habits.

What if I don’t want a gym membership?

You do not need one to have Personal Training sessions however, dependant on how many sessions you are having, you may still need somewhere to train on those days. I can offer a discount for membership if you are having sessions with myself.

How long until I see results?

Trainers that promise results in ridiculous time frames are misleading and this has created a culture of failure. It can take anywhere between 4 to 12 weeks to see changes in your body. The changes in your mind however, will be noticeable from the first week. Everybody is different and if you follow your programme, you should notice changes within the 3 months programme time. Think this, You can’t undo 10 years of bad habits in 4 weeks. I have been working on my body for 7 years – it’s continuous. Bottom line: You get what you put into it and it’ a marathon, not a sprint!

Why do I have to commit for 3 months?

Because any less time than that, you may not see results. It’s such a shame when clients give up after one month when they haven’t given it long enough to see the benefits. I now only work with people on a 3 month minimum to ensure nobody wastes their time or money.

What if I start then discover it’s not for me?

My personal guarantee means that you can sign up for a package, attend 2 sessions and if you don’t think you made the right choice, I will give you a full refund. This is my way of giving you a no-risk opportunity to discover for yourself the benefits of Personal Training. (Refund must be requested within 24 hours of 2nd session.)

FAQ’s Online Fitness Coaching

Do I need to be in the UK to benefit from online fitness coaching?

Nope! The wonders of online Fitness coaching means you can be anywhere in the world and still have your workouts delivered to you via an app. You can even have it if you live close by but feel like you want to save pennies on face to face PT.

How long will the free call be about Online Fitness Coaching?

Roughly about 20 to 30 minutes but this depends on you. I Want to make sure you have enough time to ask as many questions as you need.

I live close by, can I have a face to face meeting about online coaching?

Yes! This can be arranged.

Are you qualified to be able to coach people online?

Yes. I am Online Trainer Certified (OTC).

How do you assess what I am capable of doing if we don’t see each other face to face?

It is necessary to have am initial Skype assessment so I can view your posture and spot any problem areas that need addressing. We will do some basic movements in this assessment that will determine what exercises I can give you going forward. This ensures that the exercises provided are safe.
That being said, if you feel pain whilst performing an exercise, you would stop and feed this back to me. Then any necessary adjustments can be made.

I’m an absolute beginner regarding fitness, is online coaching for me?

This programme works best if you have at least some history of fitness or training under your belt. It is not ideal for the absolute beginner who has never done any physical activity or worked out before. Special consideration is given to beginning clients to make sure they feel at ease. Your programme would be planned to your current fitness level so that you’re not thrown into the deep end and if you’re unfamiliar with certain exercises, everything on your programme has a detailed video demonstrating it for you. If you have never stepped foot into a gym before then it is recommended that you have face to face PT to begin with.

How do you track clients progress?

You can upload your photos, weight and measurements to the app and no one else will be able to see this information!

I don’t like my clients being slaves to the scales because they can sometimes be a demotivator. Your body weight can fluctuate 2-5 pounds a day and that can be down to hydration or many different factors. It doesn’t mean you have gained 2 pounds of fat!

I advise clients to only weigh themselves once a month if they must.

How often can I contact you if I have questions?

Both packages you can email me an unlimited amount of questions per week.
The transformation package includes Whatsapp message too for nearly instant answers.
